Letters to Santa At Effie’s Cottage
In Livingston, there are many clubs and organizations for people of all ages to join. These groups provide so much for the community, especially during the holidays. They donate many things, but they are always giving their most precious commodity, their time. One of these outstanding organizations is the Polk County Garden Club. They are located in the Historical Main Street District and have been serving Livingston since 1948. 
The Polk County Garden Club will host “Letters to Santa” at Miss Effie’s Cottage, 201 Mill Street, across from the Courthouse on Saturday, December 8th from 6pm-8pm. This meet and greet with Santa is always a wonderful success as members of the Garden Club share an evening with the community. The kids always love being able to personally put their letters in the special mailbox just for Santa.
This year’s event might look a little different than before, but everyone knows Livingston loves to keep traditions fresh and exciting. All kids are encouraged to bring their letters to Santa to put in the mailbox and he will give each a big wave. There will be juice pouches, candy canes and cookies for the little ones.
Don’t let the good times stop there. After dropping off a “Letter to Santa”, enjoy a drive around town to see the Christmas Lights and displays, from the Courthouse Square, Livingston Main Street District, Anniversary Park, and Heritage Park downtown, to Pedigo Park there are wonderful displays of thousands of Christmas lights.
Make sure to prepare to play at this event by shopping or staying in town like a local. Some locals even follow up this event by grabbing dinner or dessert at one of the favorite local places to dine. Livingston Specialty Merchants’ Guild and Livingston Main Street are thrilled to invite everyone around to come #LivLocal with us at holiday traditions like this one.
