Lighting Up Livingston For Christmas

There are so many traditions that people use to get into the holiday spirit. In Livingston, one of the favorites is the annual moment of lighting all the Christmas lights. Watching the town go from a normal evening dusk lighting to a comforting Christmas glow is a moment that drops jaws. Join the town at 6pm, on Tuesday November 23rd, for a moment of celebration with a big shine. Main Celebration is at City Hall in the middle of town, but the lights go all over the city.

City employees, county employees, and dozens of volunteers come together to shift the town into a winter wonderland. The only snowflakes might be made of lights, but in the Piney Woods that is just about as close as it gets to the real thing.

A variety of lights turn on all over town as the sky settles into dusk letting the town visibly fill up with holiday spirit. Pedigo Park, Anniversary Park, the Library, and more locations will turn into displays of holiday spirit. Doesn’t matter if you like vintage style of lights or more modern style, this variety of decorations will bring a smile to all ages.

Be sure to take a drive around this small town and enjoy the wonder of Christmas. Some people grab a hot drink from the Bull Shack or a cold treat from Myli’s SweEat Ice too make the ride that much sweeter. Those with a more savory pallet grab dinner first at any of our local places to Dine.

Feel free to add to the fun November 27th-December 19th by stopping by Good Golly Miss Molly’s Thursdays-Saturdays from 5pm-7pm to see a local favorite, the Polk County Heritage Society’s Christmas Train Village. The Livingston Specialty Merchants’ Guild is so excited to help you #LivLocal during the holidays.
